MSIA Sarawak Industry Visit 2026 - Closing Engagement with Sarawak's Deputy Premier

As the final engagement of the Sarawak Industry Visit 2026, MSIA delegates had the honour of meeting with Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

The session provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue on Sarawak’s semiconductor and high-tech industrial aspirations, including the state’s strategic direction, ongoing initiatives, and the role of industry collaboration in strengthening ecosystem development. Discussions also touched on creating a conducive environment for investment, talent development, and long-term industry sustainability.

One of the most notable tagline consistently reiterated by the Deputy Premier throughout the session was “Sarawak is competitive.” This reflects his aspiration to proactively drive Sarawak’s progressive development agenda. He also highlighted Sarawak’s readiness to embrace further growth, with its strong infrastructure foundation which is advantageous to potential investors.

MSIA appreciates the Deputy Premier’s time and continued support for the semiconductor industry, and looks forward to working closely with the Sarawak State Government and stakeholders to further strengthen Sarawak’s position within Malaysia’s semiconductor ecosystem.
