Day 2 | ASEAN FDI Policy Workshop 2025

On the second day of the ASEAN FDI Policy Workshop 2025 held on 27 Oct, discussions centred on “Supply Chain Challenges and Resilience in ASEAN: Cooperation, Development and Ways Forward.”

Dato’ Seri SH Wong, President of MSIA, contributed as one of the key speakers in the session on “Developing Efficient and Resilient Supply Chain Ecosystems.”

Dato’ Seri Wong emphasized:

- The strategic importance of the semiconductor industry as the backbone of ASEAN’s manufacturing and innovation ecosystem

- The need to diversify and strengthen regional supply chains to mitigate global disruptions

- The value of collaborative efforts among governments, industry, and investors to build resilience and attract innovation-driven FDI

- The significance of cross-border partnerships and talent development to sustain competitiveness and accelerate ASEAN’s participation in global value chains

MSIA commends UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the The ASEAN Secretariat, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and and the Australia for ASEAN Futures Initiative for convening this timely and impactful dialogue for organizing this important platform that continues to foster collaboration and strengthen ASEAN’s position in global high-tech value chains.
