Day 1 - ASEAN FDI Policy Workshop 2025

We are pleased to share that MSIA participated in the ASEAN FDI Policy Workshop 2025 held on 26 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025.

This event is organized by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the The ASEAN Secretariat, hosted by the. Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

The workshop brought together policymakers, industry experts, and regional stakeholders to discuss FDI and supply chain development across ASEAN, with a focus on building resilient, competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystems.

MSIA Executive Director, Andrew Chan Yik Hong, contributed as one of the lead discussants in the session on the ASEAN Investment Report 2025: FDI and Supply Chain Development – Policy Implications. He highlighted:

- The importance of SEMICONDUCTOR supply chain resilience in the region

- The role of public–private collaboration to strengthen industrial capabilities

- The need to support SMEs and workforce development to enhance ASEAN’s competitiveness in advanced manufacturing
