Silicon Malaysia Conference 2025 – Driving Malaysia’s Semiconductor Transformation

The Silicon Malaysia Conference (SMC 2025), held on 4 November 2025 at Penang, successfully gathered over 300 industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from Malaysia and abroad.

Organised by the MSIA in strategic partnership with Informa Markets, organiser of AUTOMEX Penang 2025, this inaugural conference marks the rebranding and evolution of the annual MSIA National E&E Forum into a dedicated national platform for advancing Malaysia’s semiconductor and E&E ecosystem.

✨ Themed “Transform Silicon Malaysia by 2030: Innovate and Lead!”, SMC 2025 underscored Malaysia’s ambition to move from “Made in Malaysia” to “Made by Malaysia” — driving innovation, design, and high-value creation across the semiconductor value chain.

The one-day conference featured insightful panel discussions and dialogues on artificial intelligence, tariffs and trade dynamics, intellectual property, and Malaysia’s transformation into a regional Brainport. These discussions highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening its global position through innovation, collaboration, and talent excellence.

In his welcome address, Dato’ Seri SH Wong, President of MSIA, described “Made by Malaysia” as a national purpose — a call to move beyond manufacturing into design and innovation. “Semiconductors are the new oil... To stay competitive, Malaysia must move up the value chain and become the brain of innovation across the industry,” he shared.
