MSIA TO HOST INAUGURAL ASEAN SEMICONDUCTOR SUMMIT (ASEMIS) 2025 TO SHAPE SEMICONDUCTOR’S REGIONAL FUTURE

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 July 2025 – The Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA) proudly announces the ASEAN Semiconductor Summit (ASEMIS) 2025, a landmark event set for 24 July 2025 at the One World Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This high-level summit brings together government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders from across ASEAN and the global semiconductor ecosystem to shape the future of the region’s semiconductor industry.

As Malaysia assumes the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, the nation takes on a pivotal leadership role in driving strategic regional dialogues. In support of the Malaysian government’s vision, MSIA reaffirms its commitment through ASEMIS 2025—held under the theme "Shaping the Future of ASEAN's Semiconductor Industry"—to promote robust collaboration, and strengthen ASEAN’s position as a resilient and competitive global semiconductor hub.

Summit Highlights:

• Strategic Leadership: The summit opens with remarks by Dato' Seri Siew Hai Wong, MSIA President, followed by a CxO Roundtable featuring top executives from leading semiconductor and electronics companies, discussing ASEAN’s rise as a global powerhouse in the industry.

• AI and Innovation: A dedicated panel will explore how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing semiconductor and electronics innovation, with insights from regional leaders.

• Regional Synergy: Industry association leaders from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam will discuss aligning national aspirations and driving regional synergy to strengthen ASEAN’s position in the global supply chain.

• Sustainability Focus: An ESG panel will address how environmental, social, and governance practices are shaping the future of the semiconductor industry in ASEAN.

• Geopolitical Strategies: Senior government officials will share strategies to navigate geopolitical headwinds and ensure supply chain resilience across the region.

• Minister’s Address: The Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, Malaysia, will deliver a keynote on the National Semiconductor Strategy’s progress, followed by an MoU exchange ceremony to strengthen regional cooperation and launch major talent development initiatives, including the training of 60,000 engineers.

• Prime Minister’s Address: The summit will conclude with a special address by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim (invited), underscoring the nation’s leadership and commitment to the semiconductor industry.

ASEMIS 2025 serves as a pivotal platform for stakeholders to network, gain strategic insights, and influence the future direction of the semiconductor industry in ASEAN.
